John R. Malinowski
John R. Malinowski, he/him/his (Lighting Designer) has designed lighting for over 30 productions at CST. He served as the Resident Designer at The Nora where he designed Journey to the West, Intimate Exchanges, Arcadia, Saving Kitty, Emilie, and Operation Epsilon. Other CST credits include The Crucible (w/ Bedlam Theatre); Homebody, Matchless and The Happy Prince, Bedlam’s Saint Joan, Hysteria, Silver Spoon, The Cherry Orchard, Not Enough Air, The Caretaker, and Photograph 51 and A Christmas Carol. Elsewhere, he has designed Simon Says (Redgrave Theatre, NYC); Mercury (HERE, NYC); Oceanside (Merrimack Repertory Theatre); Golda’s Balcony, Rent, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Pillowman, Golda’s Balcony, Bakersfield Mist (New Repertory Theatre); Working, City of Angels, The Chosen, Animal Crackers, The Play That Goes Wrong(Lyric Stage Co. of Boston); Hamlet, Cherry Orchard, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Actor’s Shakespeare Project). He is the resident lighting designer at Harbor Stage Co. Awards and recognitions include Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Lighting (1996), NEA/TCG Fellowship (2000), three IRNE Awards for Lighting, and a Tennessean Award for Lighting Cyrano. John has taught lighting design at Brandeis, Suffolk, and Northeastern Universities.
