John Nicholson
John Nicholson forms one third of the award-winning comedy theatre trio Peepolykus. His work with them includes Let the Donkey Go, I am a Coffee, Horses for Courses, The Midsummer Rude Mechanicals, Goose Nights, and Mindbender. John has also written for BBC Radio 4, and has been on attachment as a writer to the National Theatre in London. With Steven Canny, John’s 2007 adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles broke box office records at the West Yorkshire Playhouse before transferring to London’s West End. Their 2008 play, Spyski!, has successfully toured the UK. Last year, John and Steven co-wrote Origins (about the life of Charles Darwin) for Pentabus Theatre, and Foot/Mouth for the National Youth Theatre. Forthcoming work will include the Christmas 2010 show for the Liverpool Playhouse and a BBC Radio 4 adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
