    Alison Qu

    A 1.5-generation immigrant originally from Jilin City, China, Alison Yueming Qu (she/they) is an Actor, Director, Dramaturg, and Creative Engagement Producer. Alison is Co-Founder & Executive Director of CHUANG Stage—the first Mandarin bilingual, bicultural 501(c)3 theater collective nationwide based in Boston, MA, and produces programs for both local and global audiences. Their recent artistic endeavors include Young Nerds of Color (Central Square Theater), Shrike (Fresh Ink Theater), We & Other Queer Goddexxes (Company One), workshop reading of Ascend! by Amy Zhang (The Tank, 2021 NY City Artists Crops grant), Earthquake by Tatyana Emery (Reground Theater Collective), Waiting for Kim Lee by Vivian Liu-Somers (Asian American Theater Artists of Boston). They have also worked closely with Pao Arts Center, Asian American Playwrights Collective, MIT Music & Theater Arts, TC Squared Theater Company, ArtsEmerson, Ping Pong Productions and more. Currently, Alison is the Associate Producer of HowlRound Theatre Commons, a free and open platform for theatremakers worldwide. Alison is a recipient of the TBF Live Arts Boston grant, National New Play Network Collaboration Grant, National Arts Strategies New England Creative Community Fellow, and a steering committee member of API Arts Network. Alison graduated from Emerson College with a BFA in Theatre (Directing and Dramaturgy).

    Sarah Shin is a Korean American actor/director/producer theatremaker. She is the Co-Founding Artistic Producer of Asian American Theatre Artists of Boston, which seeks to empower and connect Asian American, Pacific Islander American, MENA American, and Kanaka Maoli theatre artists in the Greater Boston Area through social gatherings, physical and virtual! Currently AATAB has launched AATAB Online, a Virtual Reading Series through Zoom and Facebook. Some past partners include API Arts Network, Pao Arts Center, Asian American Playwrights Collective, Company One Theatre, American Repertory Theater, and the Boston Asian American Film Festival. Sarah’s recent performing credits include “The Three Musketeers (Greater Boston Stage Co./Front Porch Arts Collective), “Something Else: A Love Cycle (BU STAMP)” and “Runaways (BU).” Other Production credits include “Endlings (Assistant Director, NYTW),” “Moby Dick (Choreography Assistant, ART),” “Amputees (Director, BU),” and “Asiamnesia (Director, Brandeis University).” Sarah is also a proud Advisory Board Member of StageSource. www.sarah-shin.com She/her/hers.
