Pre-Show Pop Up Theatre!

As part of our vision to bring our audiences a full-bodied theatre experience that goes beyond passive participation, The Nora and CST have teamed up with Bostonia Bohemia, whose mission is to bring theatrical experiences to non-traditional space, to bring MicroTheater to the CST lobby on select nights.

Short scenes will be performed from Othello: renamed Othella — a twist on gender parity– featuring Othello and Desdemona, the love between them, and the arc of the their relationship through their speeches. While the show consists entirely of Shakespeare’s words, the speeches have been re-ordered into a seamless tragic and romantic narrative. The artists have flipped the genders in Othella in order to provide the audience with a fresh experience of this famous yet troubled romance. The play will be accompanied by live ukelele.
